This is a Christmas project. I created a miniature record player ornament for my younger sister. I designed the pattern from scratch, laser cut the design from acrylic sheets, then painted the interior. I covered the outside of the box with metallic adhesive vinyl. I designed the box around a music circuit board that plays music when the box is opened.

In my second iteration, I lasercut basswood for the phonograph and used gold mirror acrylic for the vinyl. I was able to incorporate a hinge into the design and I've also used magnets to hold the box closed.
